More about the Institute

All PS Institute programming is FREE! Thanks to generous partnerships and volunteers, PS is able to provide this programming to MPS high school students for no charge.

Yes! Even if it is the last day of class, if there is an open seat, we want you in it!

You will earn a certificate, even if you only come once! The certificate will indicate how many hours you spent in each clss with us. You can use this certificate when applying for jobs, internships, and post-secondary education opportunities.

Where does the bus pick me up?
You will be picked up at your school. You will receive a text message the day before your certificate class with details like the specific location and time of your pick-up.

Does the bus take me home after class?
Yes! If you need to be dropped off somewhere else, our Program Manager will be in touch with you to help make plans.

Can I get picked up from home?
If you are not able to be picked up at school, our Program Manager will be in touch with you to help make plans.

What kind of vehicle is it?
Most of our rides are provided by our friends at NewTrax. They will arrive in a small white bus with orange or green trim. We will let you know if you should be looking for anything different.

Yes! Our classes are more fun with a friend. We will need them to fill out a registration form as well.

If you are on our waitlist, that means that the class is full. Spots usually open up after the trimester starts, and we will be in touch with you as soon as there is an open spot in the class.

Our students tell us that the snacks we provide are a big part of what they love about the Institute! Green Garden Bakery provides cookies, muffins, brownies, and all sorts of good food! We work hard to meet all dietary restrictions. When you register, please indicate any dietary restrictions you may have.

We are eager to do what we can to make the Institute a place where you can safely learn and have fun. Contact our Curriculum Manager, James Rone, to discuss any accommodations you have so we can make the experience possible for you.

Yes, please. We can’t eat it all ourselves!

Yes, we have a quiet/prayer room that can be used if and when you need it.

At the moment our Institute Certificates are only for high school students.

You will get more out of the class if you are there as often as possible, but we know life can get busy. If you are unable to join us for any number of classes, just let us know ahead of time.
