Middle School Musicals
Project Success produces Middle School Musicals annually at Andersen, Anwatin, Northeast, and Sanford Middle Schools. Through Musicals, students learn how to work together to produce and perform a show for peers and their community.
Which schools are participating?
While Project Success Middle School Musicals are currently only offered to a handful of our Minneapolis partner schools, everyone is invited to attend a performance!
Into the Woods centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
All Sanford students are eligible to audition for the cast or apply for the tech crew. We encourage students of all abilities and experiences with musicals to apply! We work to include as many students as possible in the cast and tech crew, but are not able to guarantee a space for every student who auditions or applies. See below for details on these opportunities.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
