A Week in Motion: The Impact of One Week at Project Success

Actors on stage

At Project Success, every week is filled with opportunities for students to dream big, ignite possibilities, and grow exponentially. This past week was no exception—it was a whirlwind of creativity, learning, and connection that showcased the heart of our mission.

We hosted 62 workshops across schools in Minneapolis and Mankato, helping students reflect on their futures and develop essential skills. During the month, we’ll reach all 16,000 of our middle and high school students in our two districts.

Our middle school musical theater students were hard at work, with nine rehearsals leading up to four thrilling performances of Frozen Jr. that brought their talents to the stage at Northeast Middle School. Students at Andersen Middle School were honing their acting skills in preparation for their performances on March 21 and 22. Beyond the middle school musicals, 110 students and their families attended four evening theater performances (one of which was in Mankato!) and more than 600 high school students and their teachers attended two field trips to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Guthrie Theater, expanding their appreciation for storytelling and performance.

235 Students interested in learning more about science, innovation, and future career opportunities had a special opportunity as we wrapped up the final Science Is All of Us event at the Science Museum of Minnesota, inspiring curiosity and discovery. Beyond that, the expeditions team hosted two career tours with Delta Airlines Tech Operations and the Minnesota Twins, and are getting ready for eight college tours coming up for Minneapolis and Mankato high school students over Spring Break.

The learning continued at our campus where high school students participate in Project Success Institute programs. We held four nights of Institute Certificate courses, where 51 students developed technical skills and explored new interests in bike tech, baking, and cooking. At the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, 52 students dove into hands-on tech experiences during drop-in hours, embracing creativity through digital tools. 9 students engaged in Career Pathways programming, gaining insight into careers in the tech space and preparing for internships using their new skills this summer.

A week like this at Project Success is not just about the numbers—it’s about the students who are learning and expanding their worldviews through every experience they participate in. Whether on stage, in a classroom, at a museum, or behind a computer, they are building confidence, discovering passions, and preparing for bright futures. We are grateful to be a part of their stories!
