Classroom Aide – Special Education Support

Project Success is looking for a contract Classroom Aide – Special Education Support to provide support to youth with special needs during Project Success Institute Certificate classes. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that helps students connect to their purpose. Classroom Aides reinforce classroom learning and community essential agreements and assist students, as needed, during class time. This is a 10-week contracted position for evening classes with between 2.5 – 5 hours of work per week.

This role will require strong communication skills. Our ideal candidate has experience working with youth, an ability to build and nurture trusting relationships, and is consistent, dependable, and reliable.

Contract Responsibilities 

  • Provide support services to teenagers with a variety of special needs
  • Work with students to improve personal skills and reinforce classroom learning
  • Develop and sustain relationships with students enrolled in Institute Certificate programming
  • Collaborate with the Institute Facilitator and Project Success staff to create an environment that is welcoming and accessible to students with special needs

Position Details

  • 10-week contract, with 1-2 class sessions per week, and the opportunity to renew for subsequent trimesters
  • $75 for every class session you support
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, including movement throughout a classroom environment
  • Institute Certificate Classes meet from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the Project Success office (1 Groveland Terrace)
