Themes
- Blue, one of the main characters, has been deeply affected by tragic events in his past. The impact of those past events is unresolved within him, and his current behavior is harmful to his partner and friends. What do you think Blue should do to address his past traumas, as well as to transform his current actions?
- This play takes place in a historical part of Detroit called Black Bottom. The playwright believes that it is important to know about the histories of where we live. What is something about Minnesota that you hope people learn about in future generations?
